  • A number of group meditations in beautiful locations

During this trip, you will be visiting the following places:

   Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu
A World Heritage Site, this small coastal town is famous for its Shore Temple and the Five Rathas, amazingly carved from single pieces of rock!

You can take a first dip into Indian spirituality here and hear about Shiva, Durga,Ganesha…

Local craftsmen are working on the streets and displaying their art.

Watching the sunset from the hill near the lighthouse will begin to make you feel the depth of mystic India.

   Madurai, Tamil Nadu

A long standing trading centre since at least the 4th century, Madurai
retained the vibe to this day.

The impressive Sri Meenakshi temple is one of the greatest of India and is alone a good reason to come here. It is THE reference in terms of Tamil sculpture. The complexity of the carving of the gopurams is just unbelievable.

Madurai will give you a very real taste of South India and its lively spirituality.

  Kumily, Western Ghats,

A total change of scenery and climate in this lovely lush mountainous
area where many Indian spices grow.

Kumily is the access point into the vast Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
where protected wildlife can be spotted. About 1000 elephants live there.

Jungle walks, shopping for spices, hanging out, …

A weclome rest from the hustle and bustle of the Tamil cities

   Munnar, Kerala

Munnar’s spectacular hills covered with tea plantations are an unforgettable sight. It feels like an endless manicured green carpet!

At an altitude of 1500m, the climate is perfectly refreshing from the heat of the plains.

This enchanting setting is easily explored on foot and gentle trekking is the activity of choice here.

The simple town atmosphere in Munnar is most relaxing. The perfect place to enjoy a nice cup of chai!

Allepey, Kerala

Kerala’s exotic landscapes are unique.

Allepey offers the perfect access to the famous backwaters, an extensive set of palm fringe canals bordered by small traditional villages and green rice fields.

Beautiful, relaxing… Kerala is also renowned as the State of Ayurveda. Here you can easily indulge and treat yourself to an Ayurvedic massage to feel rejuvenated half-way into the tour.

   Maravanthe Beack, Karnataka

Maravanthe is a deserted white sand beach by the side of a small fishing village, with only a few basic shacks.

A spot outside the guidebook trails where you can enjoy a bit of solitude, meditation and basically do nothing!

There you can walk along the long strech of beach, choose your spot for an intense sunbathing experience, go for a refreshing swim, an finally enjoy an awesome sunset on the Arabian Sea.

   Kollur, Karnataka

Kollur is a small village inland, home to the Sri Tathata ashram and its impressive Dharma Pita. This ashram will welcome us to take part in their daily

meditation programme and Bhakti yoga. While being a really powerful energy spot, it retains a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

In the heart of the village, the Mookambika temple, dedicated to the goddess Parvathi, attracts visitors from all around India.

Some lovely walks are also possible in the beautiful surrounding forest and mountains.

   Murudeshwar, Karnataka

A totally unique place in India, Murudeshwar is a pilgrimage spot dedicated to Shiva. His massive statue, standing 123 feet (37m) high inspires respect. This is where I fell in love with Shiva!

At night the lights come on and it looks magnificent. This is the opportunity to see many Indians coming to worship Shiva and have some fun at the nearby beach.

Walking away from the temple complex, you find yourself on a deserted white sand beach with calm waters, perfect for swimming.

   Gokarna, Karnataka

Gokarna is a slice of heaven in India! The town is home to an ancient temple and you can witness all the Indian tradition and rituals there.

Further away, you will experience what beach life really means! Literally getting up in the morning and walk straight onto the beach.

Meditate, go for a run, do your yoga, go for breakfast, get a massage or Ayurvedic treatment, or simply enjoy the beautiful beach and the sea. No schedule, up to you to fill your day in the way that you wish.

Please note: Schedule subject to change. Some additional excursions will be on offer, for you to choose from according to your preferences, e.g. jungle treks, ethnic villages, temple towns, spice plantations, tea factories, etc. For more information about this incredible journey, please contact Antoine on antoine@lifeofhealing.co.uk.
